Markdown versions of documentation pages are available by appending `.md` to page URLs; this page is available as [Markdown](https://betmatic.gitbook.io/documentation/website/sports-bets.md). # Sports Bets Sports bets are created from the **Sports** tab of [My Bets](/documentation/website/my-bets.md) at [betmatic.app/my-bets](https://betmatic.app/my-bets) — click **Create New** there to open the **Create Sports Bet** dialog. It is the sports equivalent of the racing [Create Bet](/documentation/website/creating-a-bet.md) dialog: you build a bet instruction, and your bots fan it out to your bookmaker accounts. > **Note:** As with racing bets, the bet is placed by your bot — a machine must be running (see the [Bot Quickstart](/documentation/bot/quickstart.md)) and at least one session Online (see [Bookmaker Sessions](/documentation/bookmaker-sessions/overview.md)) or the bet is never placed. Once created, sports bets appear on the **Sports** tabs of [My Bets](/documentation/website/my-bets.md) and [Bet History](/documentation/website/bet-history.md), separate from your racing bets. *** ## Notification Type Controls how the stake is calculated and distributed across accounts — the same three types as racing: | Type | Behaviour | | --------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | Fixed Wager | A flat stake is placed as-is | | Fixed Profit | You set a target profit; the bot calculates the required stake from current odds | | High Odds First | You set a total budget; it is allocated starting with the highest-priced bookmaker | Whichever type you pick, the amount is entered in the same **Stake ($)** field below — it is read as the stake, the target profit, or the total budget accordingly. ## Bet Type — Cash or Bonus Select **Cash Bet** (real money) or **Bonus Bet** (bonus funds). Accounts without bonus balance will not participate if Bonus is selected. *** ## Selecting the Event | Field | Description | | ---------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | Sports | The sport — currently **AFL**, **NBA**, or **Tennis** | | Events | Upcoming events for the chosen sport, loaded live | | Start Time | Shown automatically once you pick an event — when the game starts | | Market | The betting markets available for that event (e.g. head to head, line markets) | Each choice loads the next: pick a sport to see its events, pick an event to see its start time and markets. *** ## Selections Once a market is chosen, the Selections section controls what you actually back: | Control | Description | | ------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | Accept Better Lines | When on, the bot may take a more favourable line than the one you asked for if the bookmaker offers it, instead of skipping the bet | | Available Lines | The default mode — pick one of the market's listed selections/lines from the dropdown. Handicap lines show the points in brackets, e.g. `(+4.5)` | | Custom Line | The alternative mode — specify your own line instead of picking a listed one | Available Lines and Custom Line are mutually exclusive: switching one on turns the other off. ### Custom Line With Custom Line on, you build the line yourself: | Field | Description | | ---------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | Team | **HOME** or **AWAY** | | Sign | **+** or **−** — whether the team receives or gives the points | | Line value | The points figure. Only `.0` or `.5` values are valid (e.g. `4.0`, `4.5`) | Use it when you want a specific handicap that isn't in the listed lines — the bots look for that line at each bookmaker. *** ## Stake The **Stake ($)** field defaults to **$10**. Depending on the Notification Type it is the per-account stake (Fixed Wager), the target profit (Fixed Profit), or the total budget (High Odds First). ### Ensure total wager When enabled, the bot counts the running sessions and **splits the stake evenly across them** instead of placing the full amount at every account — the sports equivalent of the racing dialog's *Split total* option. Off (the default), every account bets the full amount. *** ## Minimum Odds Check When enabled, bets are only placed if the price is over your threshold (default 2.00) — accounts whose current odds are below it skip the bet. > **Note:** Unlike the racing dialog, the minimum odds check is **off by default** for sports bets. Turn it on if you want price protection. *** ## Schedule By default the instruction is sent to the bots immediately. Turn on **Schedule to trigger later** to queue it instead: | Field | Default | Description | | -------------------- | ------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------- | | Seconds before start | 60 | How many seconds before the event's start time the bots place the bet | Scheduled sports bets behave like scheduled racing bets — see [My Bets — Scheduled Bets](/documentation/website/my-bets.md#scheduled-bets). *** ## Targeting Filters A collapsible section that narrows down which of the eligible accounts actually bet: | Filter | Description | | ---------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | Best Odds (top N) | Only the N sessions with the best current prices place the bet. 0 = all | | Random Accounts | N sessions are picked at random. 0 = all | | Pick Number of Bots Randomly | When you run the bot on multiple machines, places the bet through a random subset of them — turn the toggle on and set how many bots participate (default 5) | *** ## Advanced Options | Option | Default | Description | | ----------------- | ------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | 1 Acc / Bookie | Off | At most one account per bookmaker places the bet, even if you have several accounts at the same bookie | | Allow Double Bets | Off | If the bet fails at one bookmaker, allows it to be retried at others — and lets an account bet the same selection twice | | Pre-Bet Delay | Off | Adds a delay before each account places the bet | | Group Bot Delay | Off | Adds a delay (default 10 seconds, minimum 1) between each bot group firing when you run multiple bots | > **Note:** The sports dialog has fewer advanced options than the racing one — Apply Boost, Bonus Back, and Take SP are not available for sports bets. *** ## Bookie Selection Controls which bookmakers, accounts, and machines receive the bet. Leave everything empty to use all of them. Three searchable multi-selects are available: | Filter | Description | | --------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | Bookies | Limit the bet to specific bookmakers (only bookmakers that support sports betting are listed) | | Sessions | Limit the bet to specific named accounts | | Machines / Bots | Limit the bet to specific bot machines | A count next to the section heading summarises how many of each you have selected. *** ## After Submission Click **Place Bet** to send the instruction. The bet appears on the **Sports** tab of [My Bets](/documentation/website/my-bets.md), and its per-account placements on the **Sports** tab of [Bet History](/documentation/website/bet-history.md) — results and P\&L work the same way as for racing bets.
